Steps/Guide to record online sessions in Google Meet for free.

Did you know?

Google has announced that “Recording a video meeting has always been a premium feature in Google Meet. In the spring of 2020, we offered premium Google Meet recordings for free to help our Google Workspace for Education customers transition to remote learning. The free premium recording promotional period will end on January 9, 2022.”

Are you not able to record online classes, meetings, and seminars?

No worries, I have made a step-by-step process of the extension, which helps you record video meetings. And guess what, it’s super easy! Plus, you don’t even need to have a student email, and it works easily with a Gmail account.

Step Last: After Stopping the recording, the message that popped on my screen was

So, it took me about 15 mins (the length of the recording was 1 hour 30 mins) for the video to arrive on my google drive (time taken to receive the video differs as per the length of the video), and it notified me.

Finally, I would like to thank my professor for introducing this amazing extension and sharing it with us. I have been using this extension since Google ended its premium feature of recording video meetings on Jan 10, and I think it is one of the best free alternatives for Google Meet recording. I would like to recommend everyone willing to record the online sessions use this extension, as it is user-friendly.
